I can see why you hate it. Rogue games are brutal. Wtf is up with these wraiths on lvl1. They assrape me even with a +1 dagger.

Take the wraiths through a door and smack them

I'd you kite them through a door you get a surprise attack, that makes it easy to hit them.

What level do you find the shop on? The mage dude is pretty good. I can actually kill the wraiths with his wand of magic missile.

Level 6, right after you beat goo. The easiest way to beat him is to plant an earthroot and stand on it as it gives you a big defense boost.

OK. I've only made it to Lvl 3. I keep having starvation issues. What does the little stopwatch/clock button do? Pass a turn? % chance to regain health?

passes a turn, waits, and if you hold it down it will let you sleep

Every time I play this game I find a new way to die. Armored statue on lvl 1? Sure! Giant pirana on LvL 1? OK!

O_o You mean it's not normal to see those on the first floor? I see them all the time up there. I think my copy hates me...

The statues on the first floor are hard to kill. They will not attack you unless you attack them first and if you are successful in killing them you will get the special item they are carrying, ring/weapon or whatever. It is usually magical in some way.
