I dont understand the complaining about arson retals... you make a grab gaining 300-500 land and in response you have to rebuild 100-150 residents? instead of losing 929-1549 land (assuming borderline bashes) I would think thats a completely fair exchange...

and again, I point out.. if you send a SoM with your hit(s) showing the KD(s) you hit were within the standard "open" range, then the retals will more than likely be suspended. Its the Borderline Bashes where the defending KD has 67% or more at home and you still roll them that we are STRICTLY enforcing. You are free to send me the SoMs and I will make sure the retals arent done myself.

Well every WL and/or PA we have to spend on a retal of some sort = less WLs/PAs on aggressive multis that are attacking KDs such as Red Ranger and Hand of Wrath
That being said, I will mention Kes that I have never been in one of your alliances but fairly unanimously in the SK community you and neal are considered the best ALs and trying to get SK players to agree on anything is pretty difficult to say the least lol
So, if you have disagreement it does make me sit back and think though...we are close to killing most of the multis that have been acting aggressively which means after that the direction of the alliance will take a different direction

I only disagree with the practise of arson retals in the curent game only due to the fact that the community and the current crop of AL's will go to war over this and we have moved on from retals for fair grabs .Lets not give any alliance a reason to stop killing Multies and go after legit playes just yet!
That siad though if is was necesary for me as an AL to protect my alliance from excessive hits ie: bashes and gangbangs ..sometimes you gota do what you gota do and if that means you are unable to grab back then by all means arson the shite out of them Most decent AL's would not mind that if you got agreement from them to use arsons as a form of punishmet,

The best players are actually the midrange guys round after round, who build for war, not for rank. Those midsize guys who sacrifice size for tons of probes, stacks of missiles. The top guys usally are very inactive in wars, other then 1-2 hits, most of them have terrible probes, never use missiles and hide alot of the war. So if those midsize KDs wanna arson top guys who dont do shit in wars as a retal, im 100% fine with that. I only play this game for war, if I am in the top 10, i still am running 15% pf's always have alot of missiles and am willing to die no questions asked, i dont see any other reason to play this game. Its not like it takes any skill to make a top 10 KD these days.
Now, i agree with Kes, on the AL's willingness to war for anything, and arsons could be a issue, but from what i have always read about the agressive probe rule is : Unprovoked aggressive probes will get you retalled, now...getting hit by someone isnt exactly unprovoked, specially if you have made it 100% aware to uni that u will retal with 3x arsons.
I always gave 2 for 1 on arsons when I AL or officer. If you no like it we would just post your som and call it a retal. 3 arsons equals one grab. If that guy retalling gets hit by same alliance 2 retals on that guy. If nobody can retal after we rape your power to 0 KT. Of course that leads to war but thats why you dont retal legit grabs with arson. Im not an officer right now so no worries. I always enjoyed picking on Luminatx.

The problem is lynog, not everyone plays to be in the top 10. Top 10 players rarely are useful in war at all. Example, KT is declared, mid size kds do all the work getting him powerless,failing. Big kd hits him for big land 1 time...then doesnt do anything until next KT is powerless and failed on ready to be broke. But other then that, the top guys dont do anything, they keeping using pa's to rob so they can build all that land, and dont add anything to the war other then a first break (which a would have happened anyways from the midsize kds fails)
Midsize kd's that build for war and not rank are the ones that get hit by top kd's who only play for rank, so if u can arson them back...do it. They not playing this game for war, they playing to see there name on the top of a list.
Now lynog, u and a few others dont build shit war KDs that are big, but 95% of the top guys who are alwasy in the top 10 do...they are usally 0pf's and like 40%sm's exploring every second and hitting.
