Yoga is a good place to start as well. Only reason I mentioned meditation is because you could just sit on your chair and do it without having to get up (Or sit on the floor or your bed).
Basic meditation is to just close your eyes while sitting down, make your back straight, think about nothing and just concentrate on your breath. That's pretty much it. If your mind starts wandering, focus back onto the sound of your breath. Think of yourself as a mountain peak, and your thoughts as clouds that are passing you. Ignore them.
It's hard at first, but I promise you that it becomes easier.
