I bought this car when the gas prices were through the ceiling over here. It's never been anything like you guys see in the UK though. I'd be riding a skateboard if I lived over there. At the time gas was heading towards $5 a gallon. People were totally freaking out, and nobody in their right mind was buying a sports car. So I went looking for this car and found it sitting in the back of the lot covered in dirt. I figured they would drop. They hadn't even bothered to dig it out or wash it. Chevy was about to pull the plug on the 4th generation (new Camaro). Unbeknown to me another guy had gone home to check with his wife when I signed on the line. He came in decked out in Dale Earnhart apparel, cussed me out, and almost took a swing at me. I hadn't debated anything I saw it, tripped the light, they agreed to fix everything wrong with it, and I bought it in the span of about 30 minutes. It had to be broken up. He had the mullet look going too and if my wife hadn't been with me nobody would ever believe that story. Since he had the other set of keys he had to hand them to me. I should have taken a picture. Gas has since settled down. I pay about $3.30 for premium and drive 55 miles to work and back every day on the interstate. That comes out to about $35-40 a week in gas which is not much at all. People love to comment that I pay a lot in gas, and most of the time I get better gas mileage. Even with the bolts on heading towards 450 hp the 6 speed still gets around 26 mpg on the interstate. It had a skip shift installed which is a CAFE standard to save gas that I had to disable. I doubt that it saved gas just disabled fun. If you aren't familiar with that it will actually force you from 1st to 4th unless you slam on the gas in first. Luckily it was a very cheap fix and I only put up with it for about a week.
These are older pics and those tires sucked balls because they hydroplaned every time it rained. It is still missing corvette rims which I want badly. I need to get a picture of the engine too it's very clean. The head unit is old but the stock one stopped working so I stole it from the wifes truck before she traded it in. The screw is sitting there because I had just committed the crime. She really loves that I put it in my car and not hers so I took a picture to remind me why she might be mad at me. I was torn between leaving the badges black or removing them. I thought maybe then the ricers would try to race me. Then I decided that I didn't want anyone to think it was a v6 so I changed everything to red and added the grille. Yes, I did put a big ass bar on that garage door in the back. I was raised in the ghetto. That spot on the driveway I had to scrub with soap and a wire brush because the wifey said I neglected her car. Doh. :ar!

Too bad some bitch slammed on her brakes in the middle of rush hour traffic on the freeway (It was on the Whitemud since i know Zeality knows what im talking about) as im changing into her lane. Ended up totalling my car when i ended up rolling back into a gravel truck. Stupid Paki driver ended up turning my car into a pop can while i was in it... For some reason the cops decided i was at fault for the accident lol
Fought the whole thing in court and managed to get anyway with just a slap on the wrist and her getting the major fines + demerits. My insurance ended up sky rocketing cause according to them, any rear-ending accident even when your not at fault is considered an at-fault accident. Paying around $500 a month for it now
Drive a truck. Nobody has ever slammed on their breaks with my lifted truck riding their ass. People constantly did it when I drove a Jetta MkIV & they still do it to my lincoln... but never eevvvvver in my truck.

Escorts are probably the cheapest and most common of those 3 around here, but still hard to find. Most are full of rust and on their way to being made into a cube.

I've never seen an Escort that looked like this in the states. I just Googled it and I'm guessing that is an MK2. Some people manage to pull off a decent looking Escort here with body kits, but this is actually a good looking car stock. After some slight reading it also has the power to weight ratio to back that up. It's a sweet looking rally car is what that is. Very nice Neg, and it looks brand new.

A cosworth would be cool but the cost is massive. I'd have to import one from the UK, rebuild it, modify the engine bay to put it in, upgrade the car completely to make sure its safe (brakes etc) and finally get an engineer to agree that its safe.
City folks respect clean cars that go fast but if you went out into the country you'd definitely run into the v8 or fk off crowd. If you say the wrong thing about Nascar it could change your life.
