Fixed my baby girl

edited October 2011 in General
Out of the shop. Some of you might recall I disappeared from aim after she got wiped out by a semi tire retread, aka road gator. Had to work long hours to fix her so I abandoned my SK account. Sorry Marvel but she took priority. Here she is cleaned up and back to normal. B-)

What else would you expect an FC leader to drive besides American muscle?

If you have ever seen the Final Destination movies you can picture what happened to my ride. I was behind a big ass pickup trick. Ahead of him was a big ass semi. The tire came off, he ran it over, and in slow motion this giant freaking tire unraveled about 10 feet in the air and just slapped down on my hood. Every evasive maneuver I attempted was futile it came at me like a Twisted Metal homing missile. I I kept driving and actually thought... that will probably buff out. When I got off on an exit ramp I took a look. That turned into a lot of profanity and my curling up in the fetal position and sucking my thumb until the tow truck arrived.

Too bad Fepo isn't around I know he could feel my pain. I'm pretty sure he drives a WS6. These cars have so much power that you fall in love with them. I had to drive a Dodge Avenger for about 2 weeks and I just wanted to drive it towards a cliff and jump out at the last second. I had a couple of dorks wanting to race me and I just shook my head. Nobody tries to race the Camaro. You're either in some dope ass ride and don't want that impounded or you know it's pointless. We have lots of ricers around here I've never had anyone step up until I got in a Dodge Avenger. :-))
  • Ford Raptor, Jeep Rubicon, Dodge Ram, these are a few of my favorite things.

    Gnarly car Dank!
I miss my ram. 05 ram 1500, hemi, 5" lift, red interior lights. Blacked out lights all over, crystally blue HIDs... and a beast of a 10" JL sittin under the backseat. Definitely fit the stereotype of rigpig haha
Sadly all of that isn't worth 500 a month in gas alone :(
Drivin an 08 MKZ now, costed a few G's more than my ram but its much cheaper on gas. Insurance is a bit of a bitch though but I still pay less than I did with the truck.

Camaro's never were my thing, but I wont deny its a sexy car. After my MKZ craps out or i crash it, or get a raise (fingers crossed?) im gonna be all over the Challenger. I will gladly drive a winter beater if i get to rip around in a 3M'd SRT8 all summer long 8) Price is a bit steep though, but daaaamn. Sexier than that Camaro ;)

I love a big truck and the MKZ is a very nice car with decent power. The Challenger SRT8 may very well be the sexiest car on the planet once you factor in price. I hope to acquire one some day.
  • Thats not a car..
    Thats an experience!
    Very nice ride
  • Power is great for a car, but the sheer torque on the ram was unbelievable. Not even a contest off the line :( Ah well, I still like the ride of a lincoln even if it is still a Ford.

The only thing that tops the challenger for me is a Mas, but I don't anticipate owning one. Too unrealistic. Challenger is very realistic though, at a year old the SRT8 runs at 45g-48g, and the brand new one I believe is 52 fully loaded. Trade-in and a nice down payment would keep the payments low... but thats a few years down the road haha :p

I definitely plan on leasing a Maserati at some point. I need the experience, I will work my ass into the ground if thats what it takes
  • all those cars are shit

What is your preference? I'd love to have a Maserati but I could never afford the repair bill. Most of the reviews I read they can't even get the car to work for the test drive. Something is always wrong. I've even seen it stated that you could spend 100k on one of them and still not have a complete car (car&driver). They do look and sound bad ass though. I see a guy on the way to work driving one frequently and he loves to rev it up and pass me on the way to the red light. Too bad it's always heavy traffic I'd take it on just to hear it open up.
  • Nice car

Dont get many muscle cars in the UK, ours are more about small cc high power engine, except for the AMG mercedes cars etc.

We get cars that are like 2 litre engines but with 400+ hp from turbos.

Id love a muscle car though, that SRT8 is nice, id still love an old 67 mustang or something though

Yes not many muscle cars here Qwjvfiil.

I am happy with my small ford escort. :-D
  • Very very few muscle cars in the UK, though ive seen quite a few mustangs and gts in central london. You see more european supercars. Recently have seen quite a few Nissan GTRs. But yeah you cant go a day without seeing an Aston martin or Porsche
  • Yeh, although european "muscle" cars are now usually more powerful, would still be good to see some american muscle cars.

A guy by mine has a new mustang but its just the normal one not the shelby powerful one
  • Brings back a lot of memories. My first car in HS was a 71z28 camaro pushin 500hp. Got many memorable tickets, license suspensions, and blow jobs in that car. To bad I couldn't afford the 10mpg for very many years.

Damn that sounds like one bad ass car and I want an old skewl Camaro too. This is only pushing about 350hp right now but I'll be increasing that very soon to around 450. Don't tell my wife! I hope to keep this one forever but I've said that before. If I get my way I'll eventually put a new engine in this. Upgrade from an LS1 to LS3 with full bolts ons. In a perfect world where everything played out at as a dream this would have a twin turbo setup, a lot of work to keep it planted to the ground, and appear completely stock so I could drive it on the street without any more hassle than normal. Normal is still a lot of hassle you must have a fuzz buster in these cars. I have actually been pulled over for driving too fast after following a police officer in a Mustang for a few miles. I guess he thought it looked like I might overtake him. It was extremely irritating listening to him tell me I was irresponsible and do you have any idea how fast you were going? Well... uh yeah the same speed you were as were the other 50 people following behind you hoping that you'd speed up sir, btw it is 7 am sir I'm just trying to get to work on time. Pulled over exiting an Arby's drive through at about 3 mph on my lunch break. I could go on they were all just as ridiculous. Passing an officer doing 35mph in a 45mph zone... any idea how fast you were going... uh 10 under... you can't pass a police officer what's the hurry?
  • we dont really have those crazy ass cars over here, well not in abundance anyway, petrol is ridiculous over here. i put £120 a week in my 2litre car, a car pullin 10mpg would cost 3x that amount. you yanks are lucky barstewards
  • I put in 120$ canadian every two weeks. Way cheaper, but I still get a solid ride. Love how its so cheap here.
@ 260hp and 3.5L its not to bad though
  • What is insurance like for those cars.

If i phoned an insurance company to insure me in Liverpool on a car with 250+ hp they would literally laugh in my face.
  • I'm at 550 a month. That being said, its because an asshat in a lancer slammed on his breaks in a free-flow lane and i didnt catch it in time, so i barely bumped into him. Maybe five minutes worth of buffing out a scratch and both vehicles would be good.
The four passengers claimed neck injuries (god knows they deserve real ones), im fighting it in court right now but for the time being im stuck @ 550/month.

Without that? Probably 300 a month on the car alone. My truck was 268/month.
  • Wait, Dank... You got your daughter spayed?
  • Moar piczz
  • If you phoned the insurance company to insure a 250+ hp car in Liverpool they prob would just contact the police to report it stolen....
  • @ Lynog, my brother got a high performance scooby, 10 quid in the tank = 13miles, cant afford to go out half the time.

tell him to sell his burberry cap, big gold chain and tracksuits and he will be able to buy petrol

    and those 40' rims
  • he can also pawn his blinging front teeth
  • Hahahaha, isnt a boy racer type of scooby ;) I can understand your assumptions though being from your town and all but honestly the rest of the UK is not like scouseland.

Think we are doing a dress down day at work here soon to try to help out the poverty stricken area of Liverpool so chin up eh? ;).
  • Dont worry, we arent insulting him, its normal for subaru drivers
