    Just ran an 8 game win streak with Control Warrior that took me from rank 18 to rank 13. lost to patron Warrior... Damn that deck is strong...

    You will get better faster if you buy packs. But you don't have to. You should buy the solo adventures at some point. They are "cheapest" with real money compared to ingame gold.

    I've spent maybe $50 on it since March 2014. $15 on the first solo adventure. The rest on a couple packs and a bunch of arena runs.

    yeah, i'm determined to never spend money on this game, since i spend so much on magic. if you want to be legit competitive it does help to spend a bit of money, but it feels really good to have a decent deck that i've never spend money on

    My best deck is Control Warrior, it needs a bit of work still, but it gets me to rank 13-11 consistently.

    Kinda gave up on heartstone to play deckheroes

    I think the big problem that hearthstone has is that it does not have an end game for most players. Magic solves this problem by being a very social game, but hearthstone feels like a grind without end.

    i find it gets less of a grind and more fun at higher ranks / once you get more cards... also arena :D. but there will surely be a point where you start playing only gimmick decks for a few months :P

    I've been chatting with @shiny money a lot, he's got a pretty good warlock deck now after about a week.
