Lews, your assumptions that VOIP servers should only be used for gaming are asinine. Also, people that USE Linux are usually not arrogant. It's the assclowns that only boot into it so they can tell everyone they use Linux or Unix that are arrogant pricks. Usually they don't know their way around linux any better than an average mac user knows his way around Unix.

Considering the topic of talk here is on gaming, then I believe my statement of Vent over TS is justified. Vent not supporting Linux client side only affects a small minority of users. Rate the software as it is, not what 3rd most popular OS it does't support. Plus you can modify it to support Vent I'm sure, guess you are too 'average' of a user to figure it out. Anyways, I use all 3 atm...2 vent servers (1 for css 1 for eve), 1 TS (for eve) and Mumble when scrimming with people on steam cos its free and beats steam ingame chat anyday.
I agree most people who boot into Linux dont use it for shits, I only access it on my netbook as I find windows shits on it, plus I had to for my computer science degree...I've got Unix installed because I need to use Final Cut and apple stupidly never licences it to other systems...
How's the latency for you US guys? Over here in Australia, it's an achievement to even get logged into their servers. I'm pinging an average of 800ms and I pretty much die every time against unique mobs in NM without even being able to deal a single point of damage.

Really? Im surprised as I'd thought they would designate servers for oceanic continent...you're probably on either an Asian server or the US ones...
Im okay, except some times I lag next to a decrepify or a cage/ something stupid with aoe, that i lag back into the previous spot and end up dying, really makes me angry
I haven't been having much problem here in NZ playing on the America server. Rarely do i get the odd rubber banding when the screen is flooded with spell effects (playing solo as a wizard with the enchantress) and enemies but other than that i'm getting a stable ~200ms latency, worst i've ever had was ~450ms max just once. I'm sure i've had much lower but as it hasn't noticeably affected my gameplay i can't give figures since i pay it no mind when it's running well.

Im trying to go through inferno mode with a 2h as a barbarian. Fuck shields, shields are for pussies. . . . anyways, its kinda hard right now, I need some better gear with life steal, or life on hit properties but it's all way to expensive for me atm. . . . I could do what everyone else is doing and just make a Demon hunter and faceroll everything . . . .but thats pretty lame.

I do have a bunch of resist all element gear on atm, Im like 70% dmg resistant or something, its not cutting it though for a 2h barbarian. I also know that it would be ALOT easier if I just got a shield and 1h, but in my own personal opinion, I shouldn't have to change my playstyle, or the playstyle I like to play just to complete a harder difficulty :S. I also think the monk is what i'll level next, although I see alot of demon hunters cutting through inferno like butter with like 72k + dps without really gearing, and their shadowroll thing makes them invulnerable to damage, and they can pop it 4 times before it charges I believe. Right now im stuck on act 2, I hate act 2 with a passion. Also imo, I think the bugs are to OP in all difficulties except normal mode.
The trick I want to do though, and I'm hoping they dont nerf it, but you use Overpower and then the rune that reflects so much DMG back to the attacker, and with the life on hit properties up enough with the right gear it can bring you back to full life instantly and it has a 15sec CD, and even less for every crit you hit or something. So you gotta stack some crit but its pretty awesome. It'll probably get nerfed though like all good things.
For DLC I hope they come out with a Paladin, A Warlock/or Necromancer.
