Well, as you all know the admin here is a total flake that doesn't communicate. This games obviously screwed. It's probably the only game you'll ever find where a bot army patrols the server acting as a surrogate administrator. That brings us to Empire Assault, the newest of many clone attempts of this game.
So, why would I not recommend it to you and why would I post it here? I feel that the admin over there is a wannabe dictator. I've witnessed myself plenty of cheating and I'm not going to get into the details, but take my word for it that there is a farming system in place using multiple accounts and people do share. This just goes with the territory. However, after we defeated Omni the admin became rather distant. He targeted a player from our group the following round and disabled him without ever giving a reason. Further, there was no mention of what happens going forward. The player in question likely did share an account at some point in time. Only that player knows how long ago that was or what exactly happened because said admin doesn't feel it necessary to go into any details. So if admins friends don't like you guess what... if they can find anything at all to ban you for he will and you'll be done. No rhyme or reason beyond his feeling justified. He will punish you at any time, in any round, and at his choosing. There is nothing that you will be able to do about this.
That brings me to my next complaint. I posted a picture of a goat having its head cut off. There was nothing suggesting that I can't do this. The post is removed. It's nature really perhaps a bit obscene but there was a purpose behind this. Sure enough the post came down, and sure enough no follow up. No attempt was made to tell me why or what the repurcussions were. I of course wait until I can get a straight answer in public to it and finally the opportunity presents itself.
This is what I'm told:
Bean - "Posting inappropriate material can get you a ban, and right now since there is not specifically a forum only ban it'll be everything included."
As you can see my posting a picture can get me a ban... that ban can take place at any point in the future... perhaps repeatedly... or simply an entire account ban at the time of his choosing. Maybe it will never happen, who knows? It's open ended on purpose. He's inserting his administration into the gameplay as strategy. This is perhaps the most retarded logic I've ever seen on a game of this type where punishments are dealt at his discretion. The implication is that I'm now marked for a ban to please his friends and this ban will take place when I least expect it and I'm a threat to them. I don't need a lengthy response to play a game of adlib, and I'm damn good at filling in blanks. As an example let's look at "it'll". It will, not it could. It's implied that this will happen. It hasn't happened it's been reserved so that it can happen during an actual round. Right now it's a reset and during the round I wasn't large enough to be considered a threat. Maybe dank will be a threat later so let's just hold off on that ban for a minute. This isn't purely conspiracy as it happened to a player this round at the time that they would benefit most, and he wasn't the first. It is the administrator's actual policy. This doesn't only punish our friend for instance once somebody is marked, they are now a liability to your agenda. This is a strategy game if I know my buddy can be disabled if I go to war with so and so that's an issue. For this reason I highly suggest that everyone think twice about going over there. The admin caters to Omni and his friends off just like BCart did but with a twist. At least BCart's punishments when he did hand them out made sense and weren't used as a strategy that caters to friends. This is just a moronic way of administrating and I would never support an admin like this.

No idea why buddy got nailed red though, that's up to him to email bean about, no point in asking in forum threads though 'cause bean won't read the 200 new posts.
Keep in mind empire assault is in alpha state. Ideally once it gets a little more progression we can see some actual moderation.
I'd expect bounty system to get removed this round.
it seems that RO are not the ones fu-ck-ing up the servers
It's just another clone that will die in in 10 years time some one will make another attempt and we will be back around full circle
Like gears of conquest with halo and then this,
It just doesn't appeal to me, the only thing what did was to go onto that kick and kick atmosphere's arse.
I had a feeling bean would be all nice at the start and neutral to get players in to build his game up but then the power would go to his head.
In games like this you ideally need a neutral administration who doesn't play and has no loyalty to either side

The posts were removed by forum mods, and had it continued there would have been a ban imposed obviously.
Banning players has nothing to do with who they are, I scan through IDs not names when I'm investigating players and I really don't have time to give a damn about who they are or their affiliations. When I see clear matches between accounts, I also look into the actions those accounts have made, empires they've created and what those empires are up to. Almost always, all but 1 of the linked accounts gets a permanent ban so regardless of the main account's verdict the others aren't accessible anymore.
What really boils my blood though is when I look into the linked empires and see that one is pretty clearly built to support the other. Which is the case most of the time, and therefore the main account gets a ban as well. Then the next round when another account is made to avoid the 3 (or more) month ban.... I ban that one too!
There's no perfect system for catching 100% of crap that goes on and i'm sure that there are some people that slip through the cracks, but when I do catch people cheating I don't so much have patience for it and if a long ban drives them away for good instead of cleaning them up it doesn't hurt my feelings one bit.
@Viva
We tried the neutral thing, but the player base isn't big enough and you run into much of the same complaints that exist in SK.
The clone isn't mean to be a huge SK revival, the masses don't play these types of games anymore and that will never change. The game is there for the small numbers that do, and want something that doesn't have massive bot armies and such.
I played fair until I saw everyone farming. It was so obvious and by day 2 out of noob they are all double your size, then triple... I don't blame Bean but when 99% of the server is food after 72 hours into the round it's a bit much. It works itself out and the biggest farmers get what they deserve in the form of multi rape. So it's not really much different than SK. It doesn't have bots and the admin does try which is good. He's a nice guy but I really feel like you know when you act like you're my boss and I know everyone is cheating like a mufuka, bitch fuck off with that. You come ask me what's going on next time instead of talking ban shit at me. We made it fun there for a minute.
It's basic game mechanics man there's not much to figure out in these games
