Ok I'm talking strictly from a skiing point of view here since I went and got my instructors licence so I feel I can talk about that . So I may stand corrected coming from a snowboarding point of view but having spoken to plenty of people who have done both sets, the general opinion is that the slopes in the rockys aren't steep enough and the snow isn't as good during the morning.
Maybe I'm completely wrong but it's hard to argue with a consensus like I've been exposed to
The rockies encompass a lot of places though, like Lake Louise is shit yet Kicking Horse is one of the best. If they say that about the best slopes here... id like to go over there and see haha
Dont think anyone (mostly) has a problem with you posting what your doing. Its the fact you think your great while doing it, bragging about some shit room, with a shit view and trying to call everyone else poor because you can afford a room that cost 100 dollars a night hahaha really though? Come on i snort more than that of a quiet weekend haha
The hotel is on the mountain, I literally skiied into the ski valet, dropped my shit off, and walked into my room.
You just cant fathom how silly you look about now Darinoob, Infact this has topped it for me now, you are a massive tool and this is the last reply you will ever get from me in this place. Just remember though, for evey dollar you have, i have ten. bye bye scrub
Oh so you're a multimillionaire? Do tell
Its the location on the mountain not the room you fucking plebs.
Rofl at calling the fucking Rocky mountains ant hills Zeal, good attempt at trolling, fuckin Montana hahaha I'm dying
P.S this isnt my life vacation kids, it was just what I did for a week two tuesdays ago instead of refreshing SK and praying like you fucking nerds.
That is a shitty looking area... looks like dry ant hills, not mountains. I've been boarding in Montana and they have some nice places, how cmethat one is so damn... ugly?
Serious question, do peoople ski because they learned as kids and now theyre committed? Or do they prefer it over boarding
I started off skiing as a kid, I had the chance to switch to boarding when I was 12-13 but I didnt like the snowboard boots and having to put on/take off the board every time you go up a lift.
I think boarding looks cooler and might be more fun, but I can just do things faster and more comfortably on skis. Its just like skateboarding vs roller blading
I've been boarding for well over a decade and havent tried skiing... wasnt cool when I first learned, then I just stuck with boarding. Seems a lot of people ae like me in that haha

zeal I live in montana- where'd u board?
It was like 7 years ago now, ill grab you the location when im home. Wasnt 5star but i enjoyed it all the same.

That's a good point actually, the alps are the same and I can confirm that the Austrian and Swiss Alps > French Alps for skiing
Ok, so I went to high school in Basalt CO. Which as it turns out is less than 20 miles from Snowmass Village. Which is where Snowmass Mountain is. I skied that mountain probably 150-200 times in my life. I also spent many an hour in the Village itself.
First the skiing. Yes, the Mountain is pretty damn good. Very enjoyable for mid-tier skiers. Black/Double Blacks mainly consist of Moguls and steep decents. Though with a bit of exploring you can find the true double black trails that test your ability. Kind of hidden to almost all but locals (fuck tourists!). For a true experience you really need to pack a lunch, your snowshoes and ski the back bowls. Only problem is... you gotta charter a helicopter and drop 15-20 feet into that untouched powder. That is where true skiing is at on Snowmass.
Yes, the hotel you stayed in was pretty nice, the room not so much. $100/night even with employee discount means you stayed in a lower tier room. For a true Aspen/Snowmass experience Id suggest the Hotel Jerome or Aspen Hotel. There $100/night with employee discount gets you a place on the mat outside the front lobby. From there its a simple RFTA bus ride to ABC (Airport Business Center) and onto a charted flight...
I tore my MCL on Snowmass... I still love that mountain.
Yeah Im not shelling out buttloads of cash for a room... unless Im with my wife.
I know what you mean. I plan to take a girl up when I go again this winter. The only thing missing on my trip this year was the extra night cardio haha.
Seriously, if you got the cash... Hotel Jerome. Its on the main street in Aspen. Aspen street mall at night is pretty fuckin awesome too. Theres this Hotdog Cart that has been there for... 35yrs now, its pretty damn good. Has the outdoor seating with the large overhead heaters. Perfect for after Bar eating lol.
Its cause we dont care about sk hahaha, boarding&skiiinh is a way bettter topic
True story, I can talk a lot about skiing because I'm actually good at it but I'm still kack at SK. Zeality almost caught me up before he was inactive and got smacked, and that was with his bad start
Skiing is good shit to be fair. I went to Bulgaria and stayed in a little log cabin village, pulled a bulgarian and felt the stubble off a bulgarian strippers minge whilst paying the equivalent of like 3 pence for a dance.
Its not on mountain. Theres a couple places on Snowmass like that... cant remember them off the top of my head. The best place for that is going to be Vail or Copper Mountain. Though those mountains are sub par in comparision to Aspen/Snowmass/Tiehack (Buttermilk).. the 3 mtns in Aspen/Snowmass region. Side note, you guys can see a bit of Buttermilk if you watch the Winter X Games this weekend.

I heard buttermilk is a really easy mountain. I was very happy with Snowmass though, there was one lift which had an open route you could slalom through spread out trees down which made the runs 2x as long, and it dropped off at a double black with a natural halfpipe cut into the mountain.
I think it was the Pure Bliss lift/KT Gully double black. I found it on the 2nd day and never left haha
Haha tree runs are fucking great. My Step Brother probably lost 20+ hats to those damn trees. We would put a little bump at the bottom of MF and tuck the last 1/3 of it and literally fly over the 30 yards of moguls at the bottom of it..

The purpose of a good hotel is to have a good room and a good view, the view you posted is shit tbh. The room looks ok,
Skiing is for faggots
I am done
you should be there to get outside and enjoy the location
your hotel should only be somewhere that you put your head down to sleep
ITT: travel snobs with no sense of 'real' travel
