LoL I love how you Americans blaime Obama for everything. While everyone outside of America with half a Brain knows that most of your financial mess you guys have to blaime On keeping Bush 8 years as pres.
That is mostly because you're an idiot foreigner who assumes that Bush actually had control of the majority of things you guys claim. When in actuality a lot of the stuff you guys put forth towards him were because of congress.
Next comes the addition of a new letter to the nations name. U.S.S.A. Union of Socialist States of America
Haha brainwashed idiots who think anything baring slightly towards the left is 'SOCIALISM! RED! COMMUNISM! REPRESSION!' Lemme just remind you the far right has Fascism you nazi pigs.

Well they were talking about universal healthcare being socialist....so not just economy.
For the Richest country in the world by far, your poverty levels are disgusting. People are born into that, and theres not a lot they can do about it, just like in Africa.
Dont worry, rich people will stay rich, even if they do have to pay a small amount in taxes towards public health care.
The small hit to your wallet CHANGES PEOPLES LIVES in huge possitive ways. Why should people have to suffer in the gutter because your too tight.
Greed and selfishness are virtues, didn't you know?
I've been on the fence about universal healthcare for a long time. I agree that people should have healthcare regardless of income. However, it shouldn't be the responsibility of citizens to provide for other people. Universal healthcare should be in the hands of a nonprofit charity, and citizens should be encouraged to donate into it, with things like tax breaks and privileges, but it shouldn't be compulsory.
I'm for taxes for a lot of things, like public education, roads, and national defense, but I just don't quite agree with being required to pay for other peoples' health. I don't even have insurance and I'm waaay below the poverty line, so I'd only benefit from the healthcare thing, but I don't like the idea of being forced to rely on strangers, just as much as I don't like the idea of being forced to take care of strangers.
African Americans also demographically poorer. It's certainly in their interest to vote Obama (in fact, if you make under 250k a household it's generally in your interest to have voted Obama).

Ammu, I think some of it might be cultural. I'm Canadian and I'm feeling a lot like you are, I really don't relate to the way a lot of Americans seem to think. To me, it's astonishingly - in a word - selfish. Everyone seems to be out for themselves and ONLY themselves. I'm a student and there are years (like this one) where I only work for 4 months, lose 25% of my income to taxes, and pay my expenses with the rest. And you know what? I would be happy losing even more if it meant a higher quality of life and better public services -- better education, health care, and social services for EVERYONE. (I'm actually kind of jelly, from my limited knowledge it's always sounded like the NHS is better than Canada's healthcare system.) I don't even want kids, so this isn't some kind of "think of the childrenz!" shit. I went through the public education system, there is A LOT of room for improvement -- teachers don't get paid enough, curriculums aren't enforced strictly enough, kids go to university without enough preparation, tuition costs are too high and rise too fast, and so forth. I've never had a serious injury or illness, and I seriously just want to pour money into our health care system; there are still too many out-of-pocket costs, wait times are too long, health care professionals are overworked and underpaid. Recent studies show that immigrants now take two generations on average to earn the same money or live the same quality of life as people who have been here longer, and that's just ridiculous. There are so, so many things in my country that I'd give up significant personal wealth to improve; I would be happier if fewer people lived below the poverty line than if I was personally rich. (I think it's interesting that a lot of people continuously hold Sweden up as one of the best countries in the world to live in, extremely high quality of life, etc., but overlook the fact that they pay for that by people literally losing 50% of their income or more to taxes.)
Canada currently has a majority Conservative government due to various things like the Liberals shooting themselves in the foot hard during their campaign, vote-splitting among left-leaning voters (between the other two major parties), FPTP, etc. But even the "Conservatives" here are smart enough to shy away from the topics that were such big news in this election like rape, abortion, birth control, etc. There is a famous quote from former PM Pierre Trudeau (who legalized homosexuality, contraception, and abortions in Canada): "the state has no place in the bedrooms of the nation." It'd probably be career suicide for a politician to touch any of those topics with a 10-foot pole. I would actually be interested to find out how "conservative"/"liberal" and "right"/"left" here compares to that south of the border because part of me feels like Canada's "conservative" would be seen as "moderate" or something by Americans. Maybe it has to do with where I was raised -- a lefty middle-class neighbourhood (and I mean lefty by Canadian standards, as in the Conservatives have been the 3rd or 4th party in this area at some points, so probably next-fucking-universe lefty by American standards). We did our own mock election in school when I was 13. The left-most major party won with like 80% of the vote or something -- they've historically been the third party here, but in the most recent election they became the official opposition.
TL;DR i just want everyone to have a decent life, apparently that makes me some kind of fucking lefty socialist communist hippie, w/e peace out brahs

It's the Us vs. Them mentality that is bred within a two-party, winner-take-all system. We have absolutely no other choice between the two parties because if you win the majority, you get every vote. This cascades up (fuck gravity) to create a bizarre political system that is two "opposites" fighting each other vehemently and dragging America along for the ride.
The two parties are essentially the EXACT same, except for stupid non-issues (read: homosexuality, birth control, religion, etc) and one or two minor policy adjustments. That is why both the left and the right in America are so conservative.
I grew up single parent of 5 kids and didn't have really anything growing up but what was necessary. I know what living poor is. I made the decision to get educated and work my butt off to make a decent living. I don't want to pay others because obama thinks we should all share our weatlh. Our country was founded on capitalism, not socialism.
In regards to the Obamacare saving us money, that's what we were told when he introduced the billions of dollars going into high risk "clean energy" grants, which none of them worked out. he also took away over 200k jobs in the coal industry, and has increased the deficit by 41% in less than 4 years. But you're right, he's implementing another idea that will save our country from adding to the national deficit.
In regards to the bush era, he was not a great president, but alot of what transpired from his presidency resulted from issues outside of his control. The free trade with China, which is our largest creditor, was opened by Clinton. He also was the president during the terrorist attacks early on in his term. Both caused our spending to increase substantially, but nothing like that of Obama.
And lastly, for anyone that thinks Clinton was a great president because he opened free trade and removed a large portion of the tax deficit, ask yourself how he removed this. It wasn't by cutting spending. It was by allowing people new retirement investment tools which helped the government generate additional income tax by doing roth conversions.
I understand you may not be well educated or fortunate enough to have a great job. That's not my problem. This country was founded on the basis of capitalism, not socialism. I believe the phrase "all men are created equal" is not the same thing as all men should be paid the same, reguardless of how lazy or unmotivated they are.
Ammunation, increasing my tax rate by 15% on income and 20.8% overall is a big hit. If you're making 200k and have to pay 94k in taxes how is that fair? I whole heartedly agree with helping those less fortunate, but I do not agree with my tax dollars going to people that are working the system.
I'm for taxes for a lot of things, like public education, roads, and national defense, but I just don't quite agree with being required to pay for other peoples' health
Health is more important than education, if your so unkeen to rely on strangers, why dont Americans make everyone pay for their education.
That's arguable. On a personal level, health is more important than education. On a national level, the education of the population is more important than the health of the handful that can't afford it. As I said, I think healthcare is important, and should be provided to those who can't afford it, but through charity organizations.
(Read fine print: educated means college degrees for persons over 25 as percent of pop)
You're cavemen. I've been civil for 12 fucking years - half my life, while rhetoric that government needs to be smaller (which has been one of the most bullshit talk but can't walk things Republicans have been spouting), that healthcare is a commodity, that all brown people are terrorists, and so on has been shoved into my face.
Fuck you. You don't like where this country is headed (tell me again how the word 'progressive' has a bad connotation when linked with 'civilization') then you can move out to one more your liking. Like Somalia.
Yes, quite civil, so much so that you start calling people names, saying things like "fuck you", and using the age-old expression "if you don't like it here, than you can geeeeet out".
Our country also had slavery, which makes labor costs cheap enough to forego a lot of taxation.
The drive and will are awesome for an individual to pick themselves up. It's not a one man show though, and to finally get to a decent living situation and then close the man-hole cover on the next person climbing out speaks just as much to one's character.
Conversion to environmentally sound means of producing energy is supposed to be an investment towards the future. Of course it's not all going to succeed, nor pay out for us now. The biggest problem faced in this dilemma is that some people don't want to take responsibility and want to continue to increase emissions - but that fucks all of us.
As far as the jobs number goes, I'm going to mark it a success that we've had a net gain in the total number of jobs created under President Obama (125k). If we have to specifically visit how fucked the housing and capital markets were in 2008, I'll go over it again.
The picture is 1 year old, but it's very telling about how Bush/Republican policies affected our deficit much more adversely than Obama has.
False: See previous graph. And to further use the graph, when you project surpluses that can be partially used to pay off debts, you can open free trade agreements with your biggest foreign creditor (actually, it may have still been Japan at that time).
So Clinton veto'd the first passage by the Republican controlled Congress because he knew in the long-term this would hurt government revenues. He allowed second passage, which helped the tax deficit only in the short term.
I understand you may not be well educated or fortunate enough to have a great job. That's not my problem. This country was founded on the basis of capitalism, not socialism. I believe the phrase "all men are created equal" is not the same thing as all men should be paid the same, reguardless of how lazy or unmotivated they are.
I've seen people use EBT cards at salons and bodegas gettin 40's. I've also seen people wreck our entire capital system and still get "bonuses" that are worth more than my entire block. The shit-stick exists at both sides of the system in America, and the exact opposite ideological stance can be gathered from the same marginal view of the issues.
Edit: There'll probably be a few rolling edits coming in to fix typos, grammar, and garbled sentences.
"Seizing Control Over The Free Flow Of The Nation's Money
Obama has stated that he wants to convert the stock the US government now owns in the nation's banks from preferred stock, which is the case currently, to common stock. This modification in type of stock may seem irrelevant at first glance, but under further analysis it is the single greatest communist policy the US government has ever adopted: It means that the federal government will control all of the currently publicly traded major banks and financial institutions in the nation which are currently in the hands of individual shareholders. Not only will the current shareholders' rights be trampled, but the control of the nation's flow of money is the first keystone of communism."
So somehow preferred stock is less preferable than common stock. Oh, and the U.S. owns enough shares to be majority shareholder, but only if those shares are converted to common shares.
That was point 1. I've seen skid marks make more coherent and plausible political points.
I've found his ideas to be more of a socialist ideology. Our country would be a lot better off if we cut some of the programs he started, and just did away with some of the tax cuts. Now this whole fiscal cliff at the end of the year with the huge tax hikes are going to kill the majority of the population.
What programs? I mean, we were asking Romney/Ryan to name the programs all Romney could say was "Big Bird."
The bad part about re-electing him is that even though the house belongs to the republicans, they will need to come to an agreement about what to do with next year's taxes and Obama already said that in order to pass any tax laws, Obamacare will be included in the new bill.
Obamacare? Do you mean the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which was signed into law almost 2 years ago? What the fuck are you talking about?
It's bad enough I have to pay for people that are too lazy to get a job to survive, but now I have to pay for their insurance also?
And it'll likely still be cheaper for you in the long run due to two reasons: 1. You're still buying health insurance from a private company. One of the large regulations is that they must use 90% of their revenues directly towards covering people. If you owned stock in Aetna or UnitedHealthCare well then that sucks for you. 2. People who didn't own health insurance were still admitted to emergency rooms. People were still receiving emergency healthcare, without paying into the system - this includes a large number of people who now can afford to (and soon must or pay a penalty) to purchase health insurance. Hospital costs were kept high by many people who were treated but unable to pay. Now a portion of those people will be payed for by insurance companies covering them.
Finally, if anyone has been to a true country to where they have universal healthcare, you can see that the health of their citizens is far worse than ours in America. Doctors will not want to go to school for 8 years to have their wages slashed by 50-60%, and more people will be going to the doctors, since they do not have to pay for it.
This will cause an issue when we go to the doctors. For instance, say that the doctor thinks you may have cancer and you need to get an MRI. As of right now, they can probably fit you in later on in the week. With this public healthcare BS, I'd highly doubt you would be in within the next 45-60 days.
I don't have a response to this. I'd just ask that you present a source, or present this conjecture with a logical progression. Considering the life expectancy article I just provided, I would imagine that less people in countries such as Japan, or Sweden, or Canada, are dying of cancers by percent than in the US, and that more of those people make it to old age. Thus, I would conclude that they likely provide in a way a method of healthcare attribution better than ours.
the main thing this election has made me realize is how differently a lot of americans think compared to the rest of the world. the fact that this race was so close is incredible to external countries.
And for those of you who are straight worrying about the economy you're absolutely right. We've been artificially postponing full recessions since the dot-com bubble of 2000. Interest rates were driven into the ground leading to excessive (and by excessive I mean using live rabbits as toilet paper excessive) borrowing. Greenspan also undermined any regulation or strong-handed investigation into the boom that was the housing markets and the newly devised securities called derivatives (first derivatives were created in the late 90's by Morgan Stanley i believe).
So we have a ton of securities gaining worth simply because they're sold as growth options, and plenty of borrowed money to purchase such securities. Thus, one crack in the game and the 2008 recession. We still haven't recovered fully, but we also did not completely let the shit-stew of debt fall through either.
Three things are going to have to happen: 1. Because of QE, the dollar at some point is going to have a sharp decline. Everything will be more expensive. 2. Because of point 1, margins will be reduced to companies and jobs will be lost or stagnated. 3. Government spending will have to be reduced heavily. This is easy to do, if you just slash our defense spending. This is hard to do when Mitch McConnell and Eric Cantor are refusing to accept that defense spending is our most lavish and least effective spending. (Don't worry, I haven't forgotten that "Blue Dogs" still exist who need to huff-ho our military dick to keep their seats)
If we can do number 3 first, then our federal government will be able to afford another stimulus package (yes, it worked the first time) when companies do lose those margins.
im a republican and i voted for Romeny... he wasnt my favorite choice, but obama is just wayyyyy tooooo left for me. His true nature will come out now. You think the last 4 years was bad just wait the true american hater will come out. I believe he truly hates america.
The man grows up from a single-guardian, poor household in America, gets educated, works in a private firm, gets more educated, gets married, works publicly with his local community, then becomes state senator and eventually president.
Watch the video I posted on page one. This was always the plan it goes back to Karl Marx who put this in motion. It is already too late they only have to flip the switch. It's been a long ride for me knowing and watching this unfold. I will be glad when it is over even if I take one to the head for recognizing it and trying to wake up my friends.
