It should be a corporate freedom to cater to idiots who fail common sense. It enlivens our freedom to distrust or at least question the motives of said corporations.

You know, this article would have been a world less silly if they had led with the paragraph about it's implications. But as it is, all i can think of is lol, Science!

The motive? What other is there but Profit?
Yea but Evian doesn't constantly tell you that - Evian constantly tells you its just trying to provide you nourishing water.
I read this as you prefer the companies that lie to you. :P
Out of curiosity, I looked to see who owned Evian, and it's the French group Danone, who go by Dannon in the US. Would never have guessed that Evian and Danimals come from the same source. And of course, they own a ton of other brands, with shares in other companies, and factories in 2 dozen countries, etc.
Sheep and Deer thing is cute enough I guess, wedding is an amusing gimmick for the zoo. Mostly just this: "Scientists are advising the public not to put too much human meaning into the pair's behaviour"

We have received your tax return and it is being processed. Unless there is a processing delay or you owe other taxes, you should receive your refund by February 28, 2012.
I wouldn't worry but if they send you some huge check by mistake don't run out and blow it.
Interesting that they're just writing this article now, pretty sure it's been known for years. They specify that they're only looking at china, but last I heard, it's true for the US as well. I guess I wouldn't be/am not surprised that a lot of people don't realize it though. it's not exactly something car companies or electric companies would want people to know because it would ruin their image. And on the note of biased reporting... I read this article right after yours, and found it amusing:
"life cycle assessment" is willing to discuss manufacturing process as a contributor of pollution, but while they mention the electricity to the factory, they only say "there's no emissions!" and don't mention that the constant need recharging also produces pollution from electrical generation. Too bad the full report link isn't working.
It is more efficient to use that electricity produced in mass quantities than from a traditional single motor vehicle combustion engine. They should be called "cleaner" cars, if anything.
Meh @ most of the riders, except for the MIA and Mary J. Blige ones. Those two are just wtf all over...

Ditto what you said about the British Barbie mom, though mine would be less rant and more *face/palm*
