  • Racquetball is a blast to play with people of the same skill level.

I was out on my parents pond today skating and passing the biscuit around.
  • Are you seriously saying hockey needs violence to be good but football is good regardless?

Also if you think or anyone thinks hockey needs violence to be good they dont know a fucking thing about hockey. Im not trying to be argumentative with you darius but you are talking a load of shit. Saying NFL is the Ultimate spectator sport I think is not true. I get much more enjoyment watching the Stanley Cup playoffs then the Superbowl. And I love NFL. As my cousins from England would tell you that NFL is garbage and boring for them and theyd rather watch a champions league finals or Eurocup. I personally also think that The euro and world cup are 2 of the most enjoyable sporting events in the world and Watch every game I can because its entertaining and no its not because I couldnt afford other sports growing up.
  • American football is boring as fuck. I tried to watch it once. Stop. Start. Stop start stop. TIME OUT.

    Fuck off

Jumping over a guy? Watch a hockey game and you'll see lots of examples im sure. Or go play hockey and we'll have this discussion again.

Theres no point in showing you any clips you'll just disagree anyways :)
  • Darius you just need to accept you don't understand the complexity of hockey, that's all there is to it. You can't jump like that in hockey, but there is equivalents all the time.

The way an elite player can take a hit, deke out the defenders and dangle the puck around the goalie is testament to the athleticism. You can't even compare the sports cause they are so much different haha
  • I feel the same way about MLB, yet look how popular it is... can't tell me those guys are any more athletic or the sport is more entertaining than soccer.

    Step 1: hit ball
Step 2: most people watch ball fly while a half dozen people run.
    Step 3: hit ball

And to Azalieo... I am so damn happy you aren't a hockey fan. We don't need your kind in our sport. Overindulging is what makes it so much fun... I can't imagine being any less of a fan than I am, like what is even the point?

Stars fan, actually. one of the best moments of my life was staying up late to watch brett hull score a goal that really shouldnt have counted to give us the cup!

sports are a great way to forget about life for a few hours, but when the game is over it is time to be an adult again.
  • you mean when his foot was in the crease? that was a dumb rule lol
  • Skill > Athleticism all day

Skill and athleticism are two different things
True, hockey has both, where I find it hard to see both in NFL.

  • There are both in the nfl/american football. There are plenty of pure athletic people who play but are just good because they can out run people. Then there are those tricky guys who know just when to make a cut to get where he wants.

  • Yeah see this is why you can't compare the two. They have nothing in common.
  • youre retarded, hate to say it. First like zeal said 2 different sports, a line man is built to hit and get by 400 pound men? NHL players are built for speed and agility and are very toned not jacked? Go work out with an NHL player and tell me they are pussies.
  • -annnnnnnd im out of this thead doo continue
  • i see a bunch of NFL guys too, I just go to the local mcdonalds
  • but guys the cricket
  • but guys the cricket
I'm with you on this one neg, I love watching test cricket. People will complain about the length of it if they don't like it but the complexity behind different bowling techniques, how the pace and bounce in the pitch affects play and the mind games behind setting a field is just brilliant to watch.

Add that plus all the atmosphere you get with the Ashes...fantastic stuff
  • What is this thread about?
  • TL:DR
Sports are awesome. Some people like some sports more than others. And some people just don't get sports at all

Also quite enjoy watching the NFL. I enjoy the tactics and psychology of setting up at the line of scrimmage. Go Jets!
  • The jets are a train wreck who ruin peoples career lol
  • Over here we haven't only just football/soccer we have rugby that's s hard sport to play gd fun also football now is just who has the biggest cheque book
  • Everyone is aware they are arguing on opinion here arent they?

Nobody will ever win, some people prefer football, some people prefer NFL etc

I personally love NFL but you cant say it doesnt have its boring moments, same with Football.

The one thing we can ALL agree on though....Cricket is shite.

Aza, would you elaborate on how you are an owner? We have a pro team in Indy now called Indy eleven. I hate the name but growing up in south Texas I do like soccer. People underestimate how easy the media can sell something with all the hispanics and people rallying behind their city for a sports team. Soccer can easily expand their market in the US. If anything I would say it is long overdue. Pretty much any hispanic restaraunt will be playing soccer on the tv when you walk in.

i did not say that i was an owner, i said that i was the kind of fan that owners chase after. moderate sports fans with the means to buy tickets and merchandise in a market that has a lot of room for growth.
  • If you are a packers fan can kinda be an owner
